Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager

Dymax, a long standing provider of specialized earthmoving and railway equipment is seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager to help us grow. Dymax manufactures specialized products that attach to construction equipment including buckets, blades, forks, rakes and other earthmoving solutions. We also have a rail division that specializes in hi-rail, infrastructure and trackwork maintenance equipment.

We are a family business located in Wamego, Kansas and are well into our fourth generation. In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of Inventory and the personnel in the areas of material handling, procurement, storage and distribution of goods. This role can be fast paced and change frequently due to the nature of supply chain disruption. Having an understanding of mechanical components including raw materials such as steel plate and structural steels as well as components like fasteners, hydraulic valves, hydraulic motors, hydraulic cylinders and other specialized equipment will certainly be helpful.

What are some of the key traits and attributes needed? Discipline, of course. Orientation to process and maintaining schedules. Able to dive to the details and also rise to see the broad picture. Orderly. And yet, at the same time, we need someone who gets things done, doesn't procrastinate and isn't afraid to hold people - both internally and externally - accountable.

There is also the need to see beyond, to imagine new ways of doing things along with embracing novel solutions to nagging problems.

We live in an ERP environment, so accuracy of data is key, whether it be cycle counting, or purchase orders, or inventory accuracy. And maintaining a good working relationship with the larger management group, including production, engineering, sales, marketing, human resources, finance and customer service is a must.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
