Responsibilities
- Complex set ups with little or no defects.
- Ability to manage multiple machines to include automatic machines.
- Knowledge of bend allowances.
- Complex set ups with little supervision.
- Determines layout of work to be done.
- Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors.
- Knowledge of using proper punch and die clearances according to material type and thickness.
- Cleans, lubricates and has ability to do maintenance on machines.
- Maintains inventory accuracy.
- Ability to manage secondary operations.
- Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications.
- Positions work piece against fixtures or stops on machine bed or on die.
- Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
- Operates forklifts.
- Ability to operate a single stage Punch Press.
- Read tape measures, dial calipers and Vernier calipers.
- Read blueprints and do a flat layout from them.
- Ability to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years varied manufacturing experience preferred
- Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission
- Flexible and able to multi-task; can work with an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
- Bend and lift, loading and unloading work pieces on to pallets, and move from one work station to another, alternately sitting and standing
- Lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
- Perform repetitive work more than 10 hours per day, including weekends.
- Read fine print and distinguish colors.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
