This position is responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the Pulmonary Diagnostics Laboratory under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Coordinator. The Technologist assists the pulmonary attending physicians and pulmonary fellows in the performance of pulmonary diagnostic procedures. Each patient will be handled on an individual basis to assure their specific needs are met. The Technologist also assists in the training of both cardiopulmonary technology and respiratory therapy student interns. The Team Leader is also responsible for the daily work assignments and the operations within the lab. The scope of patient care includes neonatal to geriatric patients.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited two or four year cardiopulmonary or respiratory therapy program.
- Current BPR license in respiratory care (if applicable).
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Current Basic Life Support.
- National Board for Respiratory Care: Registered Respiratory Therapist or Cardiopulmonary Technologist.
- National Board for Respiratory Care: Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist. May obtain within first 12 months of employment.
