Government publishing office requires Desktop Service and Support to approximately 25-30 customers.
Job Duties
Task 1# Desktop Service and Support:
- Provide Desktop Service and Support approximately 25-30 customers
- Configure, integrate, install, troubleshoot and maintain all types of desktop and laptop systems currently in place.
- Analyze hardware/software and systems components to meet the functional requirements of Pueblo Documents Distribution Center and its Customers.
- Configure, install and troubleshoot Windows Operating System (OS) and mission critical applications (Pueblo's Documents Distribution Center manager will define mission critical applications).
- Maintain, update and troubleshoot SQL server.
- Configure and install network components i.e. network cards, cablings.
- Configure network parameters in desktop/laptops and printers & copier to ensure network connectivity.
- Upgrade new computer system with the assistance and guidance of IT service desk. In most cases, IT service desk will provide a GPO Standard "gold imaged" systems.
Task 2#Application troubleshooting:
- Troubleshooting Pueblo Documents Distribution Center application issues: coordinate with GPO IT Application Management Division Staff on correction action.
- Document and communication change requests for Pueblo Documents Distribution Center applications.
Task 3# Server management:
- Perform server hardware maintenance in accordance with the scope of the contract and in coordination with the GPO IT Infrastructure Services Division.
- Perform server OS Build & configuration.
- Perform server OS maintenance (Patching/upgrades)
- Perform server hardware and OS troubleshooting
- Perform server data and OS backup and restoration.
Task 4# Network administration:
- Perform network servers in accordance with the scope of the contract and in coordination with the GPO IT Network and Telecom Division.
- Perform router and switch maintenance and configuration.
- Perform network cabling for routers, switches & servers.
- Perform Wi-Fi local Area Network LAN maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Perform network troubleshooting.
- Perform telephone system support.
- Perform mobile devise support.
- Perform any security troubleshoot, patches or fixes in accordance with the scope of the contract and in coordination with GPO IT Security.
Experience:
- At least 3 years directly related IT knowledge and demonstrated hand-on experience in service desk and IT work of similar size, scope and complexity to the requirement.
- Experience of providing desktop support to end-user for either PC, SQL server, Window server, or mainframe application or hardware.
- Interact with network service, software system engineering and/or application development to restore Service and/or identify and correct core problems. Stimulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties. Recommend systems modification to reduce user problems.
- Computer related education.
- Certified in any of the 3 of following certifications:
