Public Works I (PW I) - Compost Site Attendant Needed

Summary

Manheim Township is seeking a reliable individual to join our Public Works team as a Compost Site Attendant. This role involves managing point-of sale transactions and verification of quantity and type of material for disposal in accordance with Compost Site regulations.

Essential Functions:

1. Check vehicle type and quantity/type of material to ensure it is acceptable for disposal at the Compost Site.
2. Determine the fees to be charged in accordance with a posted fee schedule. This will be a "no cash" operation - credit/debit cards only.
3. Process cashless payments using an automated credit card/debit card payment system after determining the applicable fee based on the posted fee schedule
4. Demonstrate polite and courteous manner towards customers and coworkers
5. Follow proper safety procedures

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be capable of occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
2. Able to stand and walk for extended periods
3. Some bending, pushing, and pulling may be required .
4. Proficient use of hands and fingers is essential.
5. Clear communication, vision, and hearing are necessary.
