GENERAL UTILITY WORKER I (Full-Time)
The Village of Burr Ridge is seeking qualified applicants for General Utility Worker I in the Public Works Department.
Responsibilities will include operating power construction equipment, maintaining and repairing buildings, streetlights, street pavement, and underground pipes; executing general carpentry and other construction-related activities; performing routine maintenance on power equipment and fleet vehicles; carrying out activities for water meter reading, water meter replacement, tree maintenance, and general landscaping. Applicants shall be reliable, possess a strong work ethic, be mechanically inclined, be willing to work in all weather conditions and be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, for unscheduled, emergency events such as water main breaks, flooding, and snow removal.
Applicants should have a valid Illinois Commercial Driver's License (class A or B), or competency to obtain it within six (6) months of hire. Experience or training in a job-related field is preferred, while a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Selected candidates must prove a safe driving record, and complete our drug screen, physical, and background check before employment.

This position's hourly wage to start is $25.26 to $28.32 depending on qualifications, with a benefits package that includes life insurance, pension, paid holidays, and paid leave time.
