Form of workSummary About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Rucker is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun. Responsibilities Determine, based on local policy and procedure, appropriate jurisdiction and services to be rendered. Administer caller interrogation to determine the problem and nature of the call. Evaluate 911 emergency calls, to include installation fire, police, ambulance service, and Commercial Intrusion Detection System alarms. Manipulate computer keyboard to acknowledge or defer alarms. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Receive calls for 911 emergencies including fire, police, ambulance service, and Commercial Intrusion Detection System alarms; 2). Manipulate a computer keyboard to determine the operational procedures for emergency alarms in accordance with given procedures; AND 3). Administer caller interrogation procedures to determine the problem and nature of incoming calls. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-05.
