Creighton University is seeking a weekend only (Saturday & Sunday; 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm), Public Safety Dispatcher. The successful candidate will operate our Dispatch Center on the weekends to provide for the protection of University property, University students, visitors, patients and personnel and their property. Typical duties include:

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent;
1-2 years' related experience; CCTV computer program experience preferred;
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite to include Word and Outlook;
Ability to use and operate a multi phone line
Ability to work 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm every Saturday and Sunday.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Demonstrate professionalism;
Strong customer service skills;
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions preferred;
Ability to react calmly during emergency and/or stressful situations;
Skill in respectful, tactful, and sensitive interaction with individuals who are diverse in their cultures, language groups and abilities;
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, in English (verbal and written)

Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitors alarms and dispatching systems;
- Dispatches Officers to areas according to needs or in an emergency in accordance with established procedures;
- Follows established procedures in making outside calls to fire, police, etc.;
- Answers telephone and radio calls;
- Maintains Security logs, journals and/or files/electronic records;
- Assists in orientating and training new dispatchers
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent;
