JOB DUTIES:

As a Public Relations Specialist for Jobs for Montana's Graduates (JMG) program, you will:

  •  Develop, edit, and promote informational materials about our activities and model.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with people outside the agency.
  • Represent JMG to internal and external stakeholders, such as other agencies, schools, and other organizations.
  • Enhance status and perception of the model in a positive and professional manner.
  • Respond to requests for information.
  • Update website with news, images, and promotional materials.
  • Work to ensure effective and consistent messaging in all areas of communication.
  • Write and deliver talking points, speeches, or press releases to further public-relations objectives.  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a variety of individuals within and outside of the school system.
  • Ability to share and educate a variety of interested parties about the model by developing ongoing relationships and making formal presentations.
  • Experience in developing community and private sector partnerships.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications including Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  • Experience in graphic, photo and video software.
  • Web page creation and editing.
  • Assist with event planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Public Relations, communications, marketing, or journalism.
  • One year of directly related experience.

OR

  • Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
