Founded in 2015, Poppins Productions is a entertainment management and consulting company located in the Midwest. We focus on creating booking opportunities and artists development through consultation and management services. These services are integrated with business and financial literacy to equip our clientele to be better business leaders. Our services are available to entertainers from beginning to elite level. We have worked with renowned comedian Charles Walden, who stars on hit shows, "BET Comic View" and "Def Comedy." 

Our organization is eager to create new business ventures and partnership with local and national organizations, consultants, producers, coaches, dancers, i.e., and helping to create opportunities for entertainers to be successful as entertainers and business leaders. We are proud to add a few other businesses under our portfolio, Poppins Urban Podcast and Poppins Extensions Plus. 

Poppins Productions is seeking to bring onboard 2 Public Relations Interns to join our team in providing assistance for our corporate office and sister organizations, Poppins Extensions Plus and Poppins Urban Podcast. We are looking for a knowledgeable and dependable individual with an ability to be innovative and work well under pressure, especially as it relates to the entertainment and beauty world.

 

Public Relations Intern

Public Relations Intern will work directly to assist leadership with communication Initiatives with supporting our planning of marketing events, writing press media releases and newsletters, create and update marketing plans and strategies, and may assist with updating organizations social media accounts, media kits, and assist with clients portfolios. 

Job Description: 

Their duties include but not limited to

  • Creating engaging content for media releases, social media platforms, and newsletter. 
  • Collaborate among various departments such as Marketing and Social Media, other key players within the organization. 
  • Provide assistance to leadership with the scheduling and organizing events 
  • Updating and maintaining the company and client’s social media pages
  • Providing appropriate input and feedback on marketing initiatives and suggestions on creative watts to improve both company and clients image. 
  • Conduct research on marketing initiatives of the company’s competitors.
  • Monitor media coverage on events and media releases that were issued and create press clippings. 
  • Update media list 
  • Assist other departments with marketing and social media efforts
  • Performing administrative duties and other assigned task as needed
  • Work collaboratively with other departments heads and employees to update internal internet site
  • maintaining files and records with an effective filing system. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Associates, Bachelors, or currently enrolled into an accredited college or university (preferred and but not required).
  • Previous coursework and volunteer experience and/or 1-2 years of professional work experience will be considered as well. 
  • Excellent understanding of various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Efficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic budget management skills to track spending on sponsorships, events, and marketing material.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good research and analytical skills.
  • The ability to prioritize your workload and keep to strict content deadlines.
  • Willingness to attend corporate events after hours and on weekends.
  • Knowledge of copywriting and editing.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills 
  • Must be flexible in scheduling (evenings and weekends) 
  • Ability to work under pressure, problem solve, and make quality decisions
  • An excellent communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members, external partners, and senior management
  • Able to adapt quickly to a changing environment with minimal disruption
  • Demonstrates professional presence and reliability
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint
  • Experience using CRM (a plus)
