NORDC is seeking a dynamic and creative Public Outreach and Communications Coordinator to spearhead our efforts in amplifying our message, engaging diverse audiences, and making a lasting impact on the well-being of our community
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic communication plans to promote the NORDC's programs, events, and initiatives.
- Create engaging content for various communication channels including social media, website, newsletters, press releases, and other marketing materials.
- Manage social media platforms and online presence, ensuring timely updates, responses to inquiries, and fostering community interaction.
- Coordinate media relations activities, including drafting press releases, pitching stories to local media outlets, and organizing media interviews and coverage.
- Organize and facilitate community outreach events, workshops, and presentations to promote recreational programs and services.
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement
- Serve as a liaison between the Commission and the community, responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and gathering feedback to improve services
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Public Administration, Community Organizing, Political Science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university
- Four (4) yearsof progressively responsible professional experience in the development and coordination of public affairs/relations, communications or community outreach programs for a public corporation, government agency or in a communications agency environment. Professional experience must have been gained after the receipt of a Bachelor's degree. **A Master's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Public Administration, Community Organizing, Political Science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
