Qualifications:

Candidates must have specialized experience in an FAA or FAA-authorized Air TrafficFlight Service Station facility which demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the level of work of the position. This experience must have provided a comprehensive knowledge of appropriate Air Traffic Control laws, rules and regulations. In addition, the Flight Services Station (FSS) specialization requires judgment to select only essential and pertinent information from a great mass of data; skill to present essential information to pilots clearly, concisely, and quickly before or during flight; and ability to act decisively in emergency situations. Such experience is typically demonstrated by accomplishment of assignments of the difficulty and responsibility described in the position classification standard used to evaluate positions at the next lower grade/pay band level (AT-AC) to include appropriate OJT. Candidates must be FSS facility rated or previously have held a facility rating in an AFSS or FSS. Facility rating must have been issued by FAA or an FAA-authorized issuer. Candidates must indicate in their submission package that they have held or currently have this rating. Candidates may be deemed ineligible if this is not clearly stated in their submission package. Qualification requirements must be met by time of submission of package and candidates must submit required documents which demonstrate applicable qualification requirements are met.
