Position Summary: Our Dermatology department has an opening for a part-time Medical Assistant/Scribe. This position will be for our Provo and Lehi locations. Must be able to work Monday - Wednesday 7 am - 5 pm. Come join our positive, fun, interesting, and fast-paced medical environment. Essential Job Functions: Some of the duties specific to this position are to assist with patient care examination and related tasks:
- Escorts patients to examination rooms, interviews patient and ensures all pertinent information is recorded in the patient chart and available to the provider.
- Assists providers in in office procedures.
- Works with insurance companies and pharmacies as needed for prior authorizations.
- Ensures exam rooms are properly cleaned and stocked with needed supplies and equipment.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments following clinic policy and procedures.
- Calls results and relays messages to patients as indicated by a provider in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Creates and maintains tasks and documents for all patient interactions.
- Call/Fax/eScribe prescriptions per provider instructions.
Qualifications:
- MA certification is preferred but not required
- Previous experience with electronic medical records and medical terminology is very beneficial.
- Must have outstanding customer service, organization, and attention to detail.
- Must also be a self-starter, team player, dependable, friendly and professional.
- Be able to multi-task and work efficiently. •
- CPR certification required upon hire
Hours: Monday - Wednesday 7 am - 5 pm
