Psychometrist

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychometrist to join our neuropsychological clinic for a part-time position on a contract basis. The Psychometrist will work closely with our neuropsychologist(s) to administer and score a variety of neuropsychological tests to patients of all ages. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and comprehensive assessment of cognitive functioning and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Test Administration: Administer a range of neuropsychological tests to patients under the supervision of licensed neuropsychologist(s). This includes tests assessing cognitive functions such as memory, attention, language, and executive functioning as well as administering self-rating scales to evaluate personality, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial functioning.
• Scoring and Data Entry: Accurately score test responses and enter data into our electronic medical records system. Maintain meticulous records of test results and patient demographics.
• Patient Interaction: Interact with patients in a professional and empathetic manner, explaining test procedures and ensuring their comfort throughout the testing process. Address any concerns or questions that arise during testing.
• Collaboration: Provides written and verbal report of test results and behavioral observations to supervising psychologist. Collaborate closely with neuropsychologists and other members of the clinical team to ensure cohesive patient care. Participate in case conferences and provide input on test selection and interpretation.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure documentation is completed accurately and in a timely fashion. Adhere to established protocols and quality assurance measures to maintain the highest standards of testing accuracy and reliability. Assist in maintaining test materials and ensuring their proper calibration and storage. Adhere to HIPPA, maintain patient confidentiality, and demonstrate ethical behavior outlined by APA.
• Professional Development: Stay informed about advancements in neuropsychological testing techniques and research. Participate in relevant training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a closely related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and professional demeanor.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Computer proficiency.
• Sensitivity to the needs of patients with diverse backgrounds and clinical presentations.
• Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience administering neuropsychological tests preferred, but not required.
• Familiar with HIPPA and ethical behavior guidelines outlined by APA.
• Experience working in a private practice setting.

Schedule: This is a part-time position, with hours to be determined based on clinic needs and the availability of the successful candidate.
