The Recovery Coach / Life Skills Instructor provides life skills development activities and client support to adults with serious mental illness (SMI) or co-occurring SMI and substance use disorders (SUD). The Life Skills Specialist is supervised by the Program Manager or designated Program Coordinator, with clinical supervision and training additionally provided by the Clinical Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) Certificate
- Obtained a Criminal Records Clearance (local, state, and FBI).
- Maintains certifications in First Aid and CPR.
- Maintains certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
- Demonstrated ability to consistently establish positive relationships, and to work effectively and cooperatively with clients, families, colleagues, staff, and community members.
- Has the temperament and skills to work effectively with adults with serious mental illness and/or co-occurring SMI and substance use disorders.
- Must be computer literate in order to effectively maintain compliance with state and federal standards and requirements for use of computerized client assessments, data systems, etc.
- Must also have and maintain a clean driving record and active auto insurance coverage.
- Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural English and Spanish, preferred.
