Shift Timing: 8 am – 5 pm (Mon-Fri)
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary medical/clinical leader of the OSH Interdisciplinary Treatment
Team and provide psychiatric and medical care to patients under his/her care. Be responsible for the admission and discharge of patients to the unit assigned, psychiatric and physical examinations, formulation of diagnoses and treatment plans, and performing clinical treatments directly as well as monitoring clinic treatments performed by others. - Specific duties include performing psychiatric, physical, and neurological examinations, writing orders for patient care, conducting meetings of the unit Treatment Team to prepare individual patient Treatment Plans, and providing clinical advice and recommendations to service teams that implement them.
- Collaborate with the Unit Director to provide advice and recommendations for Treatment.
- Team in formulating and implementing plans for the operation of the unit therapeutic environment and will provide direct Service to patients such as group and individual counseling.
- Complete the medical record in accordance with requirements of OSH policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and prepare correspondence communicating findings from patient evaluations to OSH administration, judges, Psychiatric.
- Security Review Board and attorneys. Serve on medical staff committees, participate in peer review, quality assurance, and utilization review activities, assist with training and continuing education to OSH staff, maintain qualifications to perform techniques of basic life support (CPR), and attend medical staff meetings.
Duties of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Psychiatric Nursing Specialist:

Duties of Informed Consent Psychiatrist:
- The practitioner shall follow the standards set by the "Informed Consent to Treatment” training course that may be up to four (4) hours in length. As part of this training, OHA will provide Practitioner with a working outline of relevant OARs.
- The practitioner shall include in each evaluation an opinion regarding the referred patients' ability to give informed consent to specific significant procedures including, but not limited to, psychoactive medications, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), invasive medical procedures, and HIV testing.
- The practitioner shall perform consultation and evaluation no later than three business days after OSH referral and submit a written report within one business day, after the consultation and evaluation, using OSH electronic health record (EHR) forms.
