Job Summary (Part time with potential Full time options)
The Psychiatric Technician is responsible for a variety of patient care services, clerical, and administrative tasks. The Technician assists in maintaining a safe, efficient, and positive environment for the patients in the program. The Technician will insure transportation to and from the program in a safe and timely manner. The Technician is responsible for aiding for program staff and patients as needed. The Technician will provide clerical and administrative assistance for the Program Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
Actively supports the mission, philosophy, and goals of Lake Behavioral Health and the host hospital.
Assists in all paperwork requirements from pre-admission to post discharge.
Complies with all administrative, clinical, human resource, regulatory agencies, state and local regulations, and host hospital standards.
Adheres to work practices consistent with Lake Behavioral Health and host hospital mission, medical staff bylaws, administrative, departmental, and human resources policies and procedures.
Maintains the highest level of ethics in all program activities.
Communicates any concerns or issues regarding the patients to the Therapist, Nurse, and/or Program Director.
Functions as part of the treatment team.
Prepares snacks for patients when requested.
Performs facility safety checks, maintains a clean and safe environment.
Assists with patient nutritional needs.

Notifies unit immediately if any patient is ill or injured on the vehicle and completes incident reporting if applicable.
Maintains a professional appearance and behavior.
Assists in group activities at Therapist’s or Program Director’s request.
Maintains confidentiality of all patient information and protection of patient rights.
Utilizes universal precaution and adheres to host hospital infection control policy.
Attends and completes all required in-services and trainings.
Helps in emergency situations as directed by the Program Nurse or Designee.
Demonstrates care and concern in all interactions with patients, caregivers, agencies, and/or facilities. As well as remaining tactful and respectful to patients, families, and visitors.
Maintains patient safety as primary focus.
Coordinates patient transportation when applicable; coordinates and assists in planning of daily schedules and routes.
Drives and maintains company vehicle; coordinates vehicle maintenance, repair, fuel, and cleanliness.
Assists patients in and out of vehicle ensuring patient safety.
Completes daily reports as directed by the Program.
Fulfills other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Degree or GED required and Driver’s License in good standing. At least 6 months transporting patients preferred. CPR/First Aid/CPI preferred; required in the first 90 days of

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
