Position Purpose

The incumbent provides care in-person as well as via telehealth videoconferencing technology.
Essential Functions
- Conduct psychiatric assessment and evaluation, render DSM appropriate diagnosis(es), prescribe medication, assess and evaluate the therapeutic plan, and collaborate with PCPs and behavioral health staff.
- Accept referrals (psychiatric intake/evaluation, medication management, and on-going psychiatry/psychotherapy) from medical and behavioral health and clinic staff.
Adhere to appointment-based service delivery and productivity expectations for diagnostic assessment and evaluation as well as ongoing pharmacologic and care management. - Participate in telehealth via a telephonic or web-based modality.
- Make appropriate referrals for crisis stabilization, crisis intervention, chemical dependency, and facilitate admission to treatment facilities as needed.
- Utilize the harm reduction model in the delivery of psychiatry services.
- Prepare accurate and timely records on each patient, utilizing the electronic health record (EHR) while ensuring that all necessary information, documents, and evaluations are in the official patient record. This includes tending to the financial/billing tasks of providing patient care in the EHR.
- Keep abreast of the changing developments in the treatment of HIV and mental health/substance use conditions as well as maintaining a sound knowledge base on the interactions between psychotropic and HIV medications.
- Adhere to Federal, State, and local government regulations while assuring compliance with all Vivent Health service delivery standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Advance degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program of study.
- Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in accordance with the State of CO.
- Minimum 1 - 2 years' experience providing psychiatric or behavioral health service.
- Psychiatric certification in PMHNP, CAQ, or the equivalent and able to meet eligibility requirements for provider enrollment.
- Registration with Colorado DHS DQA and provider status approval letter by the Department of Health Services.
- Valid DEA license is required to prescribe controlled substances.
- Thorough knowledge of behavioral health and wellness practice standards specifically in psychiatry.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population including gender expansive populations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse populations including colleagues, patients, and community constituents and embrace cultural diversity and sensitivity.
- Highly organized with exemplary verbal and written communication skills. Effective at administration.
- Scheduling flexibility based on business need providing service and care to patients that may extend beyond the primary location.
Salary Range
- $60,000/annually - $70,000/annually (Depending on Experience)
