We are looking for:

Experienced Contracted Mental HealthNurse Practitioner who is looking to be a part of a growing team serving our four DC Metro outpatient clinics and who is focused on providing premier behavioral health care to our adolescent (12-17yrs) and young adult (18-26 yrs) clients and their families in Maryland and Virginia.

What you would do: The Nurse Practitionerwill evaluate, diagnose, and treat adolescent and young adult clients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results across four of our DC Metro Clinics (Ashburn VA, Cabin John MD, Rockville MD, and Vienna VA). This is a contracted, full-time role with approximately 10 hours expected at each clinic per week (approximately 40 hours total).

1. Collaborate with therapists, and other program staff to discuss treatment plans and the progress of clients.
2. Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, admitting diagnosis, psychiatric assessments, client interviews, medical histories, and observations.
3. Prescribe, supervise, and direct psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
4. Interact, counsel, and instruct guardians and family members of clients' conditions.
5. Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
6. Document client records and progress, including symptoms, medications, and treatments.
7. Provide expert opinion to insurance claim adjusters.
8. Provide medical assessments on clients, as needed and regulated by state requirements.
9. Establish timelines, tasks, and medical needs of our adolescent clients.

1. A degree from an accredited nursing school.
2. Current Virginia AND Maryland PMHNP license or a multi-state license as a PMHNP.
3. Current DEA license in MD and VA.
4. Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria.
5. Expertise in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatric services.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
