Description/Job Summary
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and complete written reports for all clients referred.
- Provide medication monitoring as needed.
- Maintain monthly quota of billable visits.
- Complete progress notes, medication log and consents for medication as needed to document all patient encounters.
- Complete other documents as needed clinically or to satisfy regulatory bodies: e.g., mental status exams.
- Review psychosocial summaries, treatment plans, treatment plan updates, consultations, and terminations or transfers with a signature verifying review with a therapist, as needed.
- Collaborate with other treating clinicians on questions of diagnosis, intervention strategies and discharge.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, consultations and case reviews.
- Consults with a collaborating physician as necessary.
- Provide consultation to other BH staff and PC staff, as needed.
- Provide clinical backup in emergency situations on-site. Be available by phone off site for consultation re: psychiatric emergencies of psychiatrist’s patients only, if needed. Note that this will be requested only when clinical staff onsite are unable to resolve the situation. Must provide regular schedule and telephone numbers where he/she can be reached.
- Will adhere at all times to a professional code of ethics, and with the policies and procedures manuals of the FPCN and RHD.
- Client’s rights and confidentiality will be strictly observed.
- Complete CEUs and other requirements to maintain an up-to-date license in good standing.
Required Experience
- Five years prior experience as an RN and/or Nurse Practitioner in designated specialty.
- 2-3 years of outpatient experience preferred
Required Education
- Master’s degree. Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Required Qualifications
- Current Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Board of Nursing.
- Current clinical certification: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) Certification or Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification.
- Evidence of Prescriptive Authority and a current and valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate.
- Three to five years’ experience working with adults with mental health challenges.
- Experience with Children and Adolescents preferred.
- Ability to participate well in a team approach to treatment.
- Ability to be flexible in providing evaluation, treatment, and consultations.
- No history of professional misconduct, as documented by National Data Bank, Child Abuse and Criminal History clearances. (Any infractions must be reviewed in detail with BH Director.)
- Proficiency in technological skills and ability to learn and use electronic health record.
- Able to utilize and follow all mental health requirements set forth by applicable state licensing bodies, and the credentialing requirements of insurance companies and other funding sources.
- Exhibits impeccable customer service and utilizes consummate professional communication at all times
- Unconditional ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Cooperates fully with FPCN’s compliance program.
