Scope of Position:
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and OSU Harding Hospital are committed to enhancing the quality of care our patients receive. The position of PES Clinician 3: Inpatient Addiction for the inpatient Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) initiation team will serve to provide clinical assessment, care coordination, crisis intervention, liaison/administrative support, and advocacy for patients with opioid use disorder admitted to the medical/surgical units of OSU Wexner Medical. This position will fill a vital role on the inpatient MOUD initiation team and will also work closely with the Inpatient Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison team.
Position Summary:
The PES Clinician 3: Inpatient Addiction for the inpatient Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) initiation team will serve to provide clinical assessment, care coordination, crisis intervention, liaison/administrative support, and advocacy for patients with opioid use disorder admitted to the medical/surgical units of OSU Wexner Medical. This position will fill a vital role on the inpatient MOUD initiation team and will also work closely with the Inpatient Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison team. Exceptional interpersonal skills, clinical judgment, comprehensive knowledge of resources for a diverse population of vulnerable patients, and a strong ability for problem solving in crisis or conflict situations are necessary as this PES Clinician 3: Inpatient Addiction will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team of hospitalists and psychiatrists, psychiatry residents, and psychiatry fellows, and will also work with the case manager, medical social workers, PES Clinicians, nurses, and attending physicians, residents, and nurse-practitioners from a wide-variety of medical specialties in an academic teaching environment. This position requires up to date knowledge of area Addiction Medicine/chemical dependency resources, as well as excellent clinical and organizational skills, the ability to triage medically/psychiatrically complex cases, and to flexibly interact with families, hospital and medical staff, students, and a wide range of external contacts.

Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling or related field; Independent Ohio license to practice (i.e., LISW, or LPCC) is required. A minimum of two years of experience working with patients with mental illness and/or substance use disorders is also required. Experience and/or training in at least one evidence-based psychotherapy modality (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy) is preferred. LICDC preferred
