This Provider Relations Advocate Manager role with UnitedHealth Group will call on your knowledge, your energy and your commitment to making health care work more effectively for more people. In this role, you'll use your strong customer service orientation and knowledge of insurance claims to serve as an advocate for providers in our networks. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and track all escalated provider issue for Home and Community Based Services
  • Lead team of Provider Advocates through claims and provider issue resolutions
  • Act as SME for Home and Community Based Services providers within the health plan
  • Produce reporting for health plan operations related to Home and Community Based Services
  • Advocate for enhancements of physician portal; collect feedback from Community Providers
  • Design and implement programs that build/nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers, provider administrative staff and practice managers
  • Demonstrate ability to problem solve with minimum direction from supervisor
  • Perform program management activities to support efficiency initiatives within the health plan operations department
  • Work with applicable business partners to solve provider problems; influence functional teams to produce high-quality, timely solutions
  • Support development and management of Home and Community Based provider networks
  • Implement training and development of external providers through education programs
  • Identify gaps in network composition and services to support network contracting and development teams with insights for recruitment targets

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of health care/managed care experience
  • 2+ years of Home and Community Based Health experience
  • 1+ years of experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulations
  • Claims processing and issue resolution experience
  • Provider relations and/or provider network experience
  • Residency in state of New Mexico
  • Ability to travel up to 25%


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years claims processing and issue resolution experience
  • 2+ years of Provider Relations and/or provider network experience
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
