Contract Research Analysts are responsible for research and investigation of potential provider contract set up issues received from multiple internal business partners. This role is responsible to thoroughly review requests to validate provider contract set up by researching claims, systems, and applicable policies. They also facilitate contract corrections.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research provider contract set up to identify possible issues and investigate non-standard requests
  • Submit PCRL workflow rate corrections and special project requests to remediate defects
  • Communicate with submitter to obtain clarification, provide status, and final resolution
  • Uses pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise
  • Works in multiple systems, platforms, and provider types
  • Escalate issues to leadership as necessary
  • Meet established performance standards for productivity, quality, and timeliness

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 18+ months experience in administering and/or interpreting contracts within UHC contract environment
  • 18+ months internal or external customer response / customer service experience
  • 1+ years of experience working with applicable UHC core systems (COSMOS)
  • Knowledge of business processes that impact contract loading
  • Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven ability to identify trends and recommend solutions
  • Proven solid prioritization/organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven solid interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 18+ months medical coding experience (HCPCS, CPT-4, Revenue, DRG, ICD-10, etc)
  • Load and/or audit experience
  • Knowledge of UHC products and reimbursement policies
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal guidance
