STATEMENT OF DUTIES

General Statement Of Duties:
Monitors and tracks reporting requirements of court appointed guardians and conservators in protective proceeding probate cases to ensure compliance. Assists the Court in assessing guardian and conservator expenditures. This position is responsible for providing guidance to guardians and conservators in all aspects of required reporting measures.


Distinguishing Factors:
Positions in this classification are distinguished from other classifications by the concentration on specialized case processing functions for the court. The Protective Proceedings Monitor classification is distinguished from other classifications due to working with a specialized population of court appointed guardians and conservators to ensure reporting compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Monitors the filing of guardian and conservator reports by tracking review dates.
Ensures review dates are entered timely and are accurate in order to effectively monitor protective proceeding cases.
Assists in conducting research using various databases and tools to locate and contact guardian and conservators who have failed to submit required reports.
Enters, maintains, and updates case information in computer and paper records, as required.
Interacts with other court personnel to obtain or share information.
Identifies cases with insufficient or non-existent monitoring and reviews to ensure all requirements have been met.
Provides procedural information to the public. May occasionally work with the public to provide workshops and seminars regarding Protective Proceedings cases.
Refers non-responding guardians and conservators to the Court for further action.
Maintains statistics on protective proceeding filings.
Prepares delay prevention orders for issuance by the Court.
Assists the Court in assessing the reasonableness and appropriates of guardian and conservator expenditures.
Ensures guardian and conservator reports are filed timely and that reports contain sufficient and required information and are in the appropriate format including the use of accurate report coding.
Attends meetings and training, as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS CONT.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
Responsible for one's own work product and may provide leadership, guidance, assistance, or mentorship to coworkers, volunteers, or interns. May include lead responsibilities including scheduling of work, instructing in work methods, and reviewing work products for a work group.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in public or court administration or related field from an accredited college or university and one year of legal, or court experience. Work experience in legal, probate or other court experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
OR
Graduation from high school or equivalent and five years of legal, probate or general court experience.


Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May handle emergency or crisis situations; is subject to many interruptions; and may handle multiple calls and inquiries simultaneously.
