About Us: Milagro is a thriving community theater dedicated to bringing engaging and thought-provoking productions to our audiences. With a 121-seat theater and a fully-equipped scene shop, we create an immersive experience for both our patrons and the artists we work with. Our upcoming production of "¡HUELGA!" promises to be a captivating and visually stunning show, and we are seeking a talented Props Designer to help bring this production to life.

Job Description: As a Props Designer at Milagro, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall visual appeal of our productions. You will collaborate closely with our director, production team, and other artists to create, select, and maintain props that align with the artistic vision of each show. Your work will contribute to the success of our performances and bring our stories to life.

Preliminary Schedule:

• Rehearsal Period: 12/4/2024
• Load-In: 1/2/2024
• Tech Week: 1/6 - 1/7/2024
• Performance Run: 1/11/2024-1/27/2024

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the production team to understand the artistic vision and requirements for each production.
• Design, create, or source props that are visually appealing, historically accurate, and functional.
• Work within budget constraints and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Maintain and repair props as needed throughout the duration of a production.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and innovative prop-making techniques.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Props Designer in theater or a related field.
• Strong artistic and creative skills with an eye for detail.
• Proficiency in various prop-making techniques and materials.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Knowledge of theater production processes and terminology.
• A passion for the performing arts and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
