JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking candidates for a Proposal Writer position reporting to our Director of Communications. The Proposal Writer will have primary responsibility for managing the day-to-day activities of responding to RFPs, inclusive of writing and proofing custom content that effectively conveys Miles Partnership’s strengths and qualifications to potential clients. Proposals need to be accurate, compliant and competitive, and often require collaboration with other internal thought leaders. Key to success is the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.

Miles is a full-service marketing agency with an active new business development team, and our proposals cross a wide spectrum of products and services. Therefore, a strong working knowledge of major marketing platforms such as websites, print publishing, video content and traditional and digital media is preferred.

Because of this, we’re looking for a marketing-minded individual who not only has a creative flair for persuasive writing but is also organized and on-task with important deadlines and deliverables. Attention to detail is key since the Proposal Writer’s written efforts will be the “voice” of Miles in our proposals to existing and potential clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Proposal Writer is responsible for the overall proposal development process, including strategy development, with the end goal of driving revenue growth. Typically, this person will juggle multiple proposals/RFPs with varying and often overlapping deadlines. Daily activities may include strategy calls to discuss a new RFP, research into potential solutions, coordination with other team members and contributors, or independent work to finalize an RFP response.

The primary responsibility of this role is concepting, writing, editing and proofreading new business development proposals. Additional specific responsibilities include:

• Analyzing RFP requirements, assembling an appropriate response plan and delegating responsibilities to ensure that the response is submitted by deadline
• Establishing overall strategy, production schedules, assignments and deliverables, including scheduling and facilitating meetings
• Coordinating, reviewing and editing proposal input from a variety of stakeholders
• Conducting research tied to crafting the best possible proposal response
• Delivering accurate, compliant, professionally produced proposals within defined timeframes
• Overseeing the final document review, assembly and production including printing, binding, packaging and shipping, ensuring compliance with proposal specifications
• Actively staying up to date on marketing and travel industry trends

This position does not manage a department or oversee others.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing or related degree is preferred
• 3 - 5 years of experience in a professional capacity as a Proposal Writer or marketing/communications writer
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with an emphasis on the ability to create content that engages and leads to measurable results
• Writing samples/portfolio to be provided with resume
• Candidates may be asked to take a proofreading test
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and superior project management skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects

COMPENSATION: $50,000 - $60,000 DOE

LOCATION:

• REMOTE. This is a remote position. We are open to a remote candidate located anywhere in the US or an in-office candidate based in our Sarasota, FL or Lakewood, CO office. #LI-Remote
