The Proposal Specialistworks under the direction of the Senior Proposal Manager and in collaboration with the Proposal Strategist on the development and execution of designed responses to pitches, proposals and RFPs, including content drafting, content management and content and client research. Essential job functions include:

  • Collaborate with Proposal Specialist and others within the proposal team in preparation of pitches, proposals and RFPs adhering to proposal manager’s guidelines.
  • Coordinate pitch, proposal and RFP response timelines.
  • Coordinate completion of response documentation requiring input from other administrative departments, such as conflicts management and counsel, HR, accounting, risk management and IT.
  • Support content collection and assembly for use in proposal, pitches and RFP responses.
  • Edit, proofread and format competitive responses with a critical eye for content and consistency, ensuring appropriate branding, while maintaining a strong command of each project's status.
  • Coordinate with the pricing team on design, content and execution of pricing responses.
  • Assist proposal team coordinator and content specialist in maintenance of current versions of firm proposal team assets, such as industry and practice overviews, RFP components, templates and presentations.
  • Assist with the collection and management of attorney experience data to capture new and past matters.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field, with an emphasis on branding and design; or combination of education and commensurate work experience required.
  • Ability to work competently and quickly in Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe InDesign, with both content and creative and design elements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to write and produce compelling proposals, collateral, research reports and client-facing presentation materials.
  • High level of maturity and confidence necessary to interact with sophisticated internal and external clients.
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Adobe Creative Suite and Internet research tools required; knowledge of Responsive RFP software InterAction CRM software preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

  • State of California: $60,000 - $114,000
  • State of Colorado: $55,000 - $98,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $65,000 - $117,000
  • State of New York: $56,000 - $120,000
  • State of Washington: $58,000 - $110,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
