In this internship program as Junior Proposal Writer Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical professional experience working in a team environment to maximize opportunities for the Company to generate revenue by delivering competitive, strategic sales proposals to clients. We are seeking college students who have an interest in proposal editing and strong attention to detail to work within the Procurement team. We are seeking students in their Junior year of college to join our team.

We work with manufacturers to test land-based and online electronic gaming equipment for the gambling industry to ensure it is fair and working in compliance with the regulations set by government entities. This includes slot machines, gaming, sports betting, lottery, bingo, keno, and many other types of products. You will have an opportunity to collaborate with our global team and utilize problem-solving skills and attention to detail to support department initiatives and drive customer engagement.
Join the Procurement Team:
We are looking for a persuasive, detail-oriented editor to support our proposal team , whose main responsibilities include gathering and formatting information, proofreading, editing, and obtaining approval of content, and delivering proposals to a designated source.
We help GLI Sales teams generate revenue by supporting two main proposal types:

  • Proposal - A written statement of work that captures the client's requested services.
  • Competitive Bids (RFPs) - Request for Proposals are competitive bids, publicly advertised by a client to request services.

Over the course of a 10-12-week summer internship beginning in the Summer of 2024, you will receive on the job training to support the following:
Preparing Proposals
  • Collaborates with the Sales Department to produce written Statement of Work proposals to be delivered to the Client.
  • Organizes multi-stage draft reviews of Sales Proposals, based on feedback.
  • Revises content based on feedback from management.
  • Proofreads content for spelling, punctuation, grammar, and clarity.
  • Supports the proposal process by creating a list of tasks, assigning ownership of responsibilities, and maintaining an overall schedule to help ensure proposals are finalized on time to meet appropriate deadlines.
  • Tracks the queue of incoming proposals and updates the status of proposals in progress.
  • Processes signed proposals by updating internal department records.
  • Coordinates proposal content by reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and attending strategy meetings.
  • Prioritizes target dates for gathering information, writing, reviewing, and seeking approval of content to meet deadlines.
  • Performs compliance reviews of proposals and response content based on the client's solicitation instructions.
  • Research industry information, as needed.
  • Proposes new, creative ideas to develop competitive bid response materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Templates and Procedures
  • Assist with developing templates for commonly proposed services for Sales Proposals and RFP responses, as assigned.
  • Follows procedures on RFP development.
  • Maintains quality results by using templates and following proposal-writing standards.

Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Currently an enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation date between May 2025 and related field of study such as English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or Marketing.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, correctness, and deadlines.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Location: This is an in-person, full-time position based out of our Lakewood, NJ Office
Schedule: Normal hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
Salary: $20 h/r
Travel: Minimal to no travel is expected for this position.
