Position Summary
Life Time is looking for a Law Clerk that will support the Property Development legal department. The Law Clerk will work with oversight from his or her manager and/or the in-house lawyers the Law Clerk is supporting. The Law Clerk will be responsible for working approximately 15 hours per week during the school year and approximately 20-40 hours per week during the summer.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews title and surveys for sites and drafts title objection letters and internal memos
- Reviews purchase agreements to prepare comprehensive closing checklists, closing documents and coordinates internally and externally to achieve efficient closing on real estate
- Prepares first drafts of simple purchase agreements, amendments to purchase agreements and leases and other correspondence for review and approval by attorneys
- Assists real estate and development attorneys in all aspects relating to real estate and development, including property management and lease administration
- Reviews due diligence
Position Requirements
- Completed two semesters of school (minimum) at an accredited law school (effective on start date)
- Ability to meet the working hours at Life Time corporate in Chanhassen, MN as described in the position summary
- Ability to meet objectives in a fast-paced environment with varying levels of oversight
- Excellent academic credentials and communication skills, including verbal and written
Preferred Requirements
- One or more years of school remaining until graduation
- Work experience within the legal and/or business market
