We are looking for a team member to join our property management division as a key point of contact for tenants and top-level management. This position reports directly to the President of the division to provide financial management support and information.

Company Overview: SouthWest Asset Management, Inc. (SWAM), is a commercial property management company which oversees approximately 700,000 sq. ft. of commercial real estate with 236 tenants in downtown Santa Fe, South Santa Fe and Albuquerque. SWAM also participates in a wide variety of construction and remodel projects on commercial and residential properties.
Position Summary: The Property Accountant will report directly to the SWAM President and will support the SWAM President and the Company in its day-to-day business activities in a financial and administrative capacity.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Review and oversee the processing of all accounts-receivable and accounts-payable (AR/AP), for the company
- Invoice tenants for security services, invoice chargebacks, utilities, credit card, petty cash and other lease-specific charges on a monthly basis
- Calculate and complete reports for monthly Management Fees and Commissions
- Facilitate the preparation of monthly management reports, accompanying schedules and narratives
- Review of monthly reports with Leasing Manager and SWAM President
- Interface with other entities within the corporation
- Confirm all wire transfers
- Monitor the Security service agreement between Century Bank and SWAM to ensure the correct amounts are being invoiced properly on a monthly basis and the agreement is current.
- Review leases to verify tenant invoicing is up to date for Base Rent OPE, Taxes, Insurance and update as needed.
- Special projects upon request
Qualifications and Characteristics:
- Must possess strong analytical, accounting, mathematical, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a functional understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, (GAAP)
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Work independently and effectively with a group
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or equivalent work experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year in accounts payable and/ or receivables experience
Technical Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Familiarity with accounting and property management software; experience with MRI a plus
