Brutger Equities, Inc. (BEI) is an experienced and professional housing and hotel development and management company based in St. Cloud, Minnesota. BEI owns and manages hotel properties in the upper Midwest and multi-unit residential properties throughout Minnesota.
Our corporate support center has an immediate opening for a property accountant and Office Support position. This is a full-time position that involves all aspects of the accounting process with housing properties combined with Office Support duties.
This is the perfect position for someone with accounting skills that also likes the variety of Office Support-related tasks.

Primary job functions:
Property Accountant:
- Posting deposits in property management software
- Reconciling bank accounts monthly
- Reviewing invoices for proper account coding and approvals
- Entering invoices into accounting software
- Processing vendor checks, including by mail and electronic
- Complete the monthly process by preparing accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheet and income statement)
- Prepare monthly workpapers reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Analyze expense accounts for variances from budget
- Maintain tenant account accuracy in property management software
- Work closely with housing staff to ensure timely and accurate service to our tenants
- May also assist with budgets, fixed asset accounting, and year-end reporting
Office Support:
· Document management of paper and electronic files
· Corporate renewals and registrations
· Insurance claims support
· Office systems and physical space management
· General administrative support for various tasks
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in Accounting preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years of general accounting experience
Ideal Candidate Traits:
- Proficient with spreadsheets or highly enthusiastic to learn Excel functions
- Tech-comfortable in working with or learning software systems such as general ledger, property management, and document scanning software
- Experience with income-qualified housing or government programs a plus
- Detail-orientated with strong desire to ‘make sure it’s right!’
- Highly organized and able to follow monthly routines and meet deadlines
- Eager to learn new tasks and take on new projects
- Appreciate having a mix of accounting and office admin support duties
- Able to work independently as well as accept direction and suggestions
- Positive communication skills with coworkers and property staff
- Enjoy being in a friendly, customer-focused office setting

- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
- Could be 32-40 hours a week, if desired
