Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the Props Run Crew in pre-setting prop elements before performances.
- Facilitate the proper placement of props throughout performances, ensuring seamless transitions.
- Assist in the ongoing inspection of each prop element to identify and coordinate needed repairs.
- Generate and maintain all paperwork assigned by the Supervisor for accurate tracking.
- Enforce rules and regulations required by the Actor's Equity Association, including Covid-19 additions.
- Collaborate positively and professionally with performers and staff on campus.
- Maintain cleanliness in workspaces daily, ensuring a safe and organized environment.
- Safeguard the integrity of the props and coordinate with the Prop Supervisor on design specifications.
- Manage a flexible schedule, particularly during tech weeks, to accommodate work calls and production demands.
- Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for a secure work environment.
- Contribute to the overall success of the Production Department by performing any additional duties and responsibilities assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in a live theatrical environment as a crew member or equivalent educational experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a variety of prop-making techniques.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the Prop Supervisor to efficiently complete assigned projects.
- Maintain a professional work environment, reporting directly to a Supervisor.
- Attentiveness to instructions, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to participate actively in team tasks.
- Ability to independently remember and complete tasks in a backstage environment.
- Working knowledge of standard scene shop tools.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Must be able to run short distances, use stairs, and stand for the duration of the show.
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs.
