POSITION: Projects Based Learning Science Teacher (2023-2024 School Year)
GRADE LEVEL: Hiring for a middle school teacher
LOCATION: Montview Middle School
SALARY: $50,000-$68,000 based on years of aligned experience up to 10 years
STATUS: Full time, benefits eligible, exempt, in-person position (Denver, CO)

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
DSST Public Schools seeks a Creative Engineering teacher with a track-record of raising student achievement. This teacher will be responsible for teaching and developing the engineering program for one of our middle schools. This teacher will embark on educational experiences with students that provide them with the essential skills and learning opportunities to be successful in various STEM fields.
AT DSST, our teachers play an integral role in ensuring student success by fostering the development of essential skills such as resilience and critical thinking, developing project Based Learning experiences, and building strong relationships with students. In our STEM electives program, students connect their studies to the world as they solve real and urgent problems for industry and their community. Our creative engineering courses are introductory level courses that develop students' interests in potentially further study in high school. Our creative engineering courses are part of our overall STEM electives program.
We are seeking teachers with experience or interest in teaching the following topics:
Additional duties as assigned such as supporting student recruitment, running a small group advisory class, after school tutoring, etc.*

DSST Public Schools (DSST) operates a network of tuition-free, open-enrollment public STEM charter schools. DSST schools operate within the Denver Public Schools (DPS) and Aurora Public Schools (APS) districts. Our schools focus on building a community where students and staff are valued for their unique talents. Meaningful relationships are at the core of our model which is why our schools are small enough so that every student is known and valued for their individuality. We have developed systems and structures to ensure our students will be prepared for college, career and life. The student population across the DSST network is 84% students of color and 71% qualify for free and reduced lunch. This year, DSST will serve approximately 6,000 students at fifteen schools on nine campuses across Denver and Aurora.
