The Montana Federation of Public Employees, in partnership with its national partners, seeks a qualified individual to fill the position of Project Staff Organizer. The Project Staff Organizer will assist the Montana Federation of Public Employees (MFPE) and its local affiliates to organize and engage workers to build power in the workplace through union representation and collective bargaining. This position will be based in Montana and may involve moderate in-state and limited out-of-state travel.
Successful applicant should have expertise or work experience in union or other organizing efforts. Applicants must also demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, in addition to computer literacy with expertise and experience in database management and utilization.
Project staff duties will include assisting MFPE members and leaders in the process of growing union membership and providing organizing support for new and existing MFPE bargaining units.
Starting salary between $45,000 and $48,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, cell phone stipend, and paid vacation and sick leave.
