Schedule Engineer:
This position is remote, but the team prefers someone in the East coast time zone, some travel may be required to other Company's locations from time to time

The Scheduling Engineer is accountable for the effective delivery, execution, and management of the end-to-end integrated schedule development, coordination, and control process throughout the life cycle of the project(s). Serves as an owner representative to enable project teams to target competitive schedule solutions and provide critical input for the project risk management process.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Lead implementation of early Front End Loading (FEL) scheduling plans and audit contractor execution of late-FEL and project implementation schedule plans as required to meet business and project needs
  • Provides scheduling services to Company's Project Team Leader (PTL) and Construction leadership
  • Ensures appropriate schedule detail level is utilized based on project execution requirements and project phase.
  • Provide business differentiated early schedule analysis in support of business investment options.
  • Provide input and functional oversight for scheduling activities later in the project life cycle. Assesses, analyzes, and validates contractor-provided project schedules for quality, reasonableness, and competitiveness throughout the life cycle of the project. Monitor the health of the Project Scheduling processes performed by contractors and drive excellence and continuous improvement
  • Ensure key metrics and benchmarks (internal and external) are in place to effectively gauge schedule performance and promote continuous improvement. Develop and maintain applicable scheduling tools, implement new applications as appropriate, and serve as a Client of business proprietary scheduling information. Develop and maintain 'owner' planning & scheduling procedures and standard practices as required. Enable contractor understanding of required Integrated Project Scheduling IPS practices and procedures.

The "what responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Interface with project teams to formulate and develop schedules that fully integrate all phases, functions, and activities
  • Provide guidance and direction to project teams in determining required level of detail, coordination of functions, integration of project phases, and methods/techniques to improve cycle time through competitive schedule solutions
  • Develop schedule logic, connectivity, and hierarchy
  • Assist teams in identifying key metrics and benchmarks (internal and external) and ensures they are in place to effectively gauge schedule performance
  • Assess and analyze schedules for quality, reasonableness, and competitiveness throughout the life cycle of the project
  • Work with project teams to define resource loading requirements for the integrated project schedule, resource load the integrated schedule, and identify critical resources issues
  • Perform critical path analyses
  • Perform schedule risk analysis to identify potential issues and voids. Then develop appropriate solutions for risk/deviation mitigation and adjust schedules/execution accordingly
  • Lead schedule status meetings and provide schedule updates based upon required frequency (as per schedule plan) as appropriate
  • Identify and provide schedule reports that are beneficial to the project team
  • Provide guidance and direction to the engineering, design, procurement, and/or construction disciplines in the effective use of the integrated schedule for obtaining physical percent complete and earned value analysis.
  • Work with the Project Cost Engineer to track, analyze, and report physical progress and earned value against the baseline in support of the change management process
  • Provide mentoring and training for project team members in scheduling best practices standardization

The following is required for this role:
  • Has experience in and must be able to provide responsibilities outlined above
  • 5+ years of heavy industrial Project scheduling experience for both engineering and construction
  • Proficient user of Primavera (P6) scheduling software
  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks and quickly initiate changes in plan when appropriate
  • Ability to effectively interact with and influence people at all levels within and outside of ***
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%)

The following is preferred for this role:
  • 10+ years of oil/gas/chemical process plant Project scheduling experience for both engineering and construction
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Project scheduling software
  • Technical/Engineering background or experience
  • Familiarity with industry cost reporting techniques and responsibilities
  • Ability to conduct schedule risk analysis with software such as Acumen or Primavera Risk Analysis
