Job description

Position Description:
The Project Scheduler collaborates with project and preconstruction teams to build and maintain project schedules and baselines in accordance with GCON's policies, owner requirements, and the on-going analysis of project's critical path.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate successfully with GCON internal stakeholders including the Project Teams and Preconstruction Team to maintain project schedules with timely communication of potential schedule risk.
  • Ensure that monthly schedule updates are published and verified as true and accurate.
  • Identify schedule risk and potential claim situations and ensure such risks or claim situations are integrated, documented, and correctly mitigated or avoided.
  • Ensure schedule complies with contractual requirements and schedule logic is complete with proper use of lags and constraints, etc.
  • Regularly confirm project milestones, including substantial completion, final completion and turn-overs, are current and that contracted milestones are updated when necessary due to project changes via Owner Change Order.
  • Assist project superintendent and/or project manager on the maintenance and update of schedules.
  • Management of multiple project schedules and conversion to a global milestone dashboard.
  • Variance reporting and reporting of critical tasks, slipping tasks, milestones & upcoming tasks.
  • Provide scheduling assistance for pre-construction projects as needed.
  • Assist project teams to ensure delays are adequately documented.
  • Develop what-if contingency options with the project team for recovery and accelerated schedule efforts.
  • Cost load schedule if required.
  • This role will be performed on-site, in office, across various project sites.
  • <10% out if state travel required.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in project scheduling on small and large construction projects
  • Recent expertise and a proven knowledge in Primavera (P6)Pro
  • Knowledge in BIM and how it relates to scheduling and sequencing is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to manage discussions with exec management, drilling down to details and managing an effort.
  • Dep understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling theory.
  • Ability to read plans and specifications and develop and approach to construction.
  • Ability to develop estimates and timelines from concepts and rough ideas.
  • Principles and practices of cost engineering and scheduling

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ of scheduling experience, including reading/researching blueprints or 5+ years in experience in onsite project management or superintendent experience.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling or stretching.
  • Standing/Walking/Sitting: Workday is combination of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Legs: Must be able to climb stairs.
  • Hands/Arms: Constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer use
  • Vision: Visual acuity in near, mid, and far range. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordination
  • Hearing: Sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone and radio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipment
  • Speech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radio
  • Lift/Carry: Up to 50lbs.
  • Bending/Twisting: Minimal
  • Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: Minimal
  • May require travel.
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers
