Job description

Basic Function
Leads and supports the Operations Group by working with external departments to deliver and receive the necessary inputs to deliver reliable and optimal refinery operations.
Job Duties
(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
  • Acts as the focal point representing Operations as the stakeholder in the Execution phase of projects from FEL 2 to Close Out in Light Oils/Heavy Oils
  • Acts as the focal point for Conduct of Operations during Outages and Turnaround and ensures effective implementation of all initiatives associated with Outages and Turnaround of operating performance for HollyFrontier refineries
  • Implements High Value Learning Events into Outages and Turnaround
  • Identifies need for changes to scope, schedule, or cost & manages & communicates change
  • Ensures that projects provide capability and functionality with regards to operability and provides Operations group deliverables for each project (e.g., PSSR, training, procedures, design input and review, etc.).
  • Represent Operations in the planning and scheduling of TAR & Outages in Light Oils and/or Heavy Oils
  • Represent Operations in the execution of complex maintenance activities in Light Oils/Heavy Oils
  • Understands upcoming significant maintenance activities and assist with resources and planning to ensure effective, efficient and safe execution.
  • Identifies need for changes to scope, schedule, or cost & manages & communicates change
  • Serves as a liaison and communicates daily with shift organization with regards to ongoing capital project execution and complex maintenance activities

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their manager, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion
Experience
A minimum of eight years of job related work experience is required.
Education Level
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, is required.
Required Skills
Proficient with spreadsheet, presentation and word processing applications; strong planning, problem-solving, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, analytical, verbal and written communication skills. General understanding of corporate governance practices, handling regulatory compliance including State, Federal and various other government authorities. Proven leadership skills including mentoring, decision making, delegation and motivating others.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
Work Conditions
Office and refinery based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, fumes or airborne particles, loud noises, vibrations, wet and/or oil contaminated conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.
Physical Requirements
Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, and kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise finger and hand movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying 50lbs, climbing up to 160ft, and perceiving color differences, wearing personal protective equipment.
