BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the Integrated Defense Systems Business Unit of the Intelligence & Security (I&S) Sector in the Fayetteville, NC area.  This position reports to the Operations Director, manages a project team in a dynamic, fast-paced demanding environment, and oversees C5ISR Modernization projects ensuring deliverables are on schedule, scope and cost over the multi-year program.
The candidate is a motivated self-starter, demonstrates exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills and will overcome organizational challenges to accomplish demanding activities in a fast-paced SOF operational environment.  The position requires direct, clear, and timely communication with executive level military leaders on a daily basis.  The candidate must demonstrate exacting attention to detail and simultaneously maintain a top-level perspective to ensure overall project success. The candidate will lead a team of subject matter experts to fulfill a wide variety of both urgent short duration activities, as well as longer-term Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) projects with other contractors and government agencies. Project team activities include system design, procurement, fabrication, integration, testing and evaluation, installation, and fielding support for innovative technical solutions across the Information Technology environment that will modernize the communication enterprise and tactical architecture including improving system hardening, implementing new capabilities, and migrating to the cloud.
The candidate will manage project(s) and liaise between Operations Director, project team, and the customer. Prepares project execution plan, reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
The following duties are typical of the position.
  1. Management of projects as part of the program, within established company policies, guidelines, and contractual requirements to include numerous subcontractors.
  2. Develop briefs and/or reports on the status of the program.
  3. Liaison with customers and other contractors while ensuring continuity with Director of Programs.
  4. Manage the team in dynamic, fast-paced customer environment.
  5. Develop, or assist with development of program and project cost estimates.
  6. Monitor work and expenditures to ensure schedule and budget are maintained.
  7. Ensure quality assurance requirements are met.
  8. Reinforce technical aspects of successful project management.
  9. Initiate corrective action to support task problems and failures.
