JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager is responsible for the oversight and professional support in the planning, design, development, implementation, and project management of city projects (I.T. related and Administrative Process Management). The Project Manager facilitates design conversations, sets deadlines, manages project budgets, and ensures that projects are completed within budget and in accordance with the City of Duncanville's expectations and standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Plan and develop project ideas: Work with internal stakeholders and external clients to define the concept and create a process to bring the project to fruition. This includes setting and managing client expectations, developing a detailed project plan, defining the scope of the project, understanding project risks, and assigning team members to specific tasks.
- Create and lead the project team: Assemble and manage the project team to make a fine-tuned project machine. Offer the team guidance and training/coaching to ensure success by ensuring open and honest communication, forming working relationships and motivating any members who need it.
- Monitor project progress and set deadlines: The Project Manager must create an accurate timeline of project completion to ensure tasks are finished within the confines of the assignment. In addition, the Project Manager must also anticipate any delays that may occur and apprise the team of any changes as needed.
- Solve Issues that Arise: Anticipate any potential issues before they occur. Maintain adaptability and problem-solving to keep control of projects.
- Manage the Money: Project Managers are responsible for budget management to ensure projects get done without excessive spending or overages to the initial budget.
- Ensure Stakeholder Satisfaction: Keep open lines of communication with team members, administration, and/or the City Council for updates and feedback.
- Evaluate Project Performance: Responsible for evaluating project efficiency and effectiveness after the completion of each project.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Project Management Professional PMP certification is highly preferred.
Valid State of Texas driver's license desired.

ALTERNATIVE WORK SCHEDULES
Upon completion of 6-month new hire probation, this position is eligible for hybrid-remote (up to 20 hours a week), flexible hours and 4 10-hour days scheduling upon the successful completion of a six-month probationary period and at supervisor’s discretion.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $84,542.90 - $122,587.21 per year
