Project Manager (Senior School Planner) - Davis Demographics
Status: Full-Time Exempt
Location: Southern California, Riverside Office, preferred

The Project Manager oversees all aspects of one or more specific contracts and makes sure that all of the work is completed and deadlines are met in the most efficient manner. A Project Manager is responsible for acquiring and analyzing all of the necessary data to complete the Scope of Work for the project. Every aspect of the work described in the approved proposal (contract) is carefully monitored and carried-out by the Project Manager. The Project Manager assigned to a particular district's contract for a given year is ultimately responsible for the quality and content of the work presented to the client. The Project Manager is also held accountable for monitoring the budget associated with a particular project. If necessary, and with approval of the Office Manager, portions of the approved work can be delegated to others in the office. When the Project Manager's client work is distributed to others in the office, the Project Manager is encouraged to develop and mentorship arrangement for the purpose of preparing others to eventually become a Project Manager. The Project Manager is still responsible for the timeliness and quality of all work under their direction.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Eventually to be trained to do or understand the following tasks:
- Tracking and Updating Residential Development (techs/analysts can do most)
- "Address-Matching" (Geocoding) (techs/analysts can most of this work)
- Editing/Creating various GIS Data Layers (i.e.: streets, schools, study areas) (techs/analysts can do most)
- Making Maps (techs/analysts can do most)
- Calculating the factors that go into the student forecasts (techs and analysts can help)
Main Tasks Associated with being a Project Manager:
- Making sure Renewal Proposals are written and sent to clients.
- Learning the "Big Picture" of what Davis Demographics does
- Producing and understanding Student Forecasts
- Assisting in the Preparation of a Projection Report
- Meeting with Clients and Various Committees
- Project Budgeting (Keeping track of billable time)
- Meeting Project Timelines
- Suggesting Insightful Facility Planning Solutions to School Districts
- Creating "Final" Quality Projection Reports
- Possibly Making Demonstrations to Prospective Clients
- Making Presentations to School Boards (including creating PowerPoint presentations)
- "Mentoring" GIS Analysts on all aspects of DDP
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least four (4) or more years of experience in project management
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Self-directed and comfortable working remote
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Training Clients in ArcGIS Pro and SchoolSite Pro Software
- K12 Planning Experience and/or GIS experience, strongly preferred
