Our employees are passionate about building our emerging talent and future leaders. Project Management Internship
As a Program Management or Project Management Intern, you will work alongside your hiring manager, mentor, and team to complete tasks critical for Northwestern Mutual's success. We are here to help you both identify and continue to develop your future career goals and passions. The roles are responsibilities are as follows:
Project Management: You will assist a Project Management Office (PMO) or similar team in day-to-day project task management, make connections across teams to drive identification and managing of inter-dependencies, drive clarity on objectives, priorities, and measures, schedule meetings with stakeholders, assist in requirement gathering and documentation, and participate in program ceremonies (stand ups, planning, refinement, etc.). You will do this work in support of our business partner workstreams, contributing to PMO deliverables including newsletters and quarterly business reporting, creation of unified program plans that deliver the program objectives, while also being accountable for identifying, assessing, and mitigating program risks and issues and removing impediments. You'll shadow various workstream across the org to gain knowledge of different approaches. During your internship you can expect to be assigned an internal project with results and breakthroughs to complete throughout the internship.

- Wealth & Investment Management - Wealth PMO is responsible for managing the portfolio of initiatives for the Wealth & Investment Management department, providing overall Portfolio Governance & Process/Procedure ownership and supplying Program Managers, Project Managers, and Business Analysts to support the delivery of individual projects of all sizes.

- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Project Management, Management Information Systems or related field from an accredited college or university
- Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
Preferred skills and proficiencies
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability
- High degree of self-motivation, passion, and a strive to learn
- Ability to balance multiple priorities
- Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and SharePoint administration highly desired
- Strong ability to develop relationships with internal and external partners
- Strong leadership skills passionate about facilitation of small group meetings; ability to deliver insightful, well-organized documentation
