About the role

The Project Manager, Fire Alarm provides expert-level leadership in project management and relationship skills leading integrated design teams and their interactions with ArchKey/Sprig Electric customers. ​The successful Project Manager consistently demonstrates a "customer first" approach to developing and maintaining key relationships with and exceeding customer expectations. ​ This individual works equally well as an individual contributor and as a leader of a highly specialized team.

A Day in the Life

• Manages high-profile projects applying technical and project management expertise while leading cross-functional resources to meet project requirements within established timeframes and budgets. ​
• Nurtures existing client relationships and proactively pursues opportunities for new business. ​
• Capable of leading client work with ArchKey/Sprig Electric's customers including leading project teams on local and national assignments. ​
• Develops strategic Technology & Electrical plans, programming/commissioning documentation, and design services. ​
• Develops and delivers client presentations, reports, and deliverables. ​
• Listens and responds promptly to client questions and concerns, building client confidence and resolving problems quickly and efficiently. ​
• Participates actively in Quality Assurance and Control procedures throughout the consulting engagement. ​
• Maintains current knowledge of technologies and trends, as they apply to the relevant project and market types, and continually strengthens skills. ​
• Periodically acts as QC/​QA Reviewer on other PM's projects. ​

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage complex projects and teams to budget and schedule, while meeting key stakeholder critical success factors. ​
• Proactive, professional, timely, and detail-oriented approach to managing project schedules, design staff, and deliverables to exceed client expectations. ​
• Ability to demonstrate a credible and trustworthy presence through professionalism, demeanor, and broad technical knowledge. ​
• Familiarity with, and ability to produce, project-related documents and documentation standards required of a Project Manager. ​ Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design. ​
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards, with specific emphasis on NFPA, NEC & Building Codes. ​
• Extensive understanding and knowledge of various LV Systems such as Fire Alarms, life/safety, communications (2-way, ERRCS, etc.), and controls for the built environment.
• Familiarity with working with applicable AHJ representatives, coordinating the City permit process (acquisition and sign-off), and ability to ensure that all projects meet the most current applicable compliance for that specific project.
• Expertise in the various systems and/or vendors used for fire & life/safety (e.g. Notifier, Siemens, Honeywell, Edwards, JCI, Potter, etc.)
• Working knowledge of voice/​data systems, low voltage systems for the built environment, IT/​telecommunications, wireless systems, and electronic security systems. ​
• Strong client communication and interpersonal skills. ​
• Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into, projects. ​
• Professional certifications, registrations, and credentials relevant to ArchKey/Sprig Electric's practice areas and markets. Preferred to hold a minimum of NICET II.
• Experience in the construction industry and in-depth knowledge of construction processes.
• Understanding of sustainable design practices.
• Working knowledge and experience with the use of standard scheduling software; MS Project, and other related MS Office software. AutoCAD software knowledge is a plus.
  

Travel

• Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area travel and overnight may be expected.
