Refined Gardens is an award-winning Landscape Design, Construction and Maintenance firm specializing in custom residential.
We are seeking a qualified Project Manager / Designer to join our team.
General Description:
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of landscape projects from design inception to construction completion. Refined Gardens views the Project Managers involvement with a project as a “womb to tomb” relationship. You will collaborate with clients, design teams, builders, craftsmen and construction managers to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Refined Gardens looks to its Designers & Project Managers to provide authentic designs that transcend innovative style and trends. This role requires a blend of project management skills, technical knowledge, and a passion for creating beautiful outdoor environments. Project Managers are expected to act as a liaison between Refined Gardens and its clients, always treating the client in a professional manner.
Responsibilities:
The following represent the primary roles and responsibilities performed by the Design Project Manager position; these include but are not limited to:
• Consult with potential clients to understand their desires, preferences, and objectives.
• Work with Direction of Design to formulate design proposals.
• Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing conditions, opportunities & local codes.
• Work with the Director of Design and/or in-office designers to design innovative and aesthetically pleasing landscape concepts that align with clients needs and project goals.
• Prepare and present visually compelling presentations including: hand rendered plans, inspirational boards and sketches as needed to effectively communicate the design concepts to clients. If needed, work with 3D model team to develop renderings.
• Manage and work with design team to produce detailed landscape construction plans, including plant selections, hardscape elements, irrigation systems, and lighting designs.
• Work closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices.
• Collaborate with the estimating team to develop accurate cost estimates for all aspects of the project, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Prepare construction proposals for presentation to clients. Work with Director of Design on presentation and sales.
• Take part in the transition of responsibilities from the Design Project Management team to the Construction Project Management team.
• Meet with construction clients on a needed basis.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies to ensure continuous innovation and excellence in design and construction.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and creativity.

• Proficient in assembling a construction document package.

• Knowledge of Arizona plant material.
• Capable of hand illustrating and applying color to convey concepts effectively.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Indesign, Office Suite. (Sketch-up, Lumion, Land FX a plus but not required)
• Proficient with Mac computers and software. (Preferred but not required)

Education / Experience:
• The preferred candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in horticulture, landscape architecture, architecture, construction or a related field of study.
• Minimum 3+ years of landscape design experience.
• Registered Landscape Architect a plus (but not required)
