Position Summary
Under general supervision performs specialized project management for humanities projects primarily including leading the John E. Mack Archives Data Anonymization Project, and planning for the 2025 Archives of the Impossible conference at Rice University. Prepares special studies, reports, analyses, and other tasks as required.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a salary of $65,000 with a term of 2 years.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year-for-year basis may be substituted.
- One (1) year project management experience

- Knowledge in technical discipline/domain needed to deliver projects.
Preferences
- 5 years of anomalous experience
- 1 year of experience working with archival collections.
Essential Functions
Data Anonymization Effort in John E. Mack Archives
- Building a specialized team of participants for the data anonymization effort
- Leading digitization efforts
- Coordinating team efforts toward the creation of a secure computing environment
- Supervising data anonymization efforts undertaken by project computer scientists and fellow team members.
- Writing project planning documentation and final reporting
- Collaborating closely with archives staff who administer access to the John E. Mack Archives
Conference planning, Archives of the Impossible Conference 2025
- Collaborating with Humanities faculty to plan and organize the 2025 conference to be held at Rice University, including scheduling sessions, developing communications and outreach, building a budget, and organizing registrations.
