Symbia’s Project Manager will oversee projects nationwide for Symbia Logistics. This may include startups, acquisition integrations, new buildings, automation installation, etc. This position, while reprorting to their Supervisor, will be the main driver of any new project the person is assigned to. The right team member will have a strong Project Management, Operations and Analytical background and will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and decisiveness. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the voice of Symbia. You will be the main point of contact for projects and will need to be the voice and presence of Symbia during the project.
- Expertise in Project Management involving system integration.
- Experience in working with process change projects including automation.
- Develop a detailed project plan that includes goals, objectives, strategy, scope, budget, scheduling, potential risks and mitigation, contingency plans, timelines, explanation of work to be done, methods and procedures.
- Communication is key. You will need to be able to provide and facilitate interactions with team members, management, and any vendors or third-party companies that may be involved with any project assigned to you.
- Make sure that teams and vendors have the information and resources necessary to achieve goals and deadlines.
- Ensure that all work falls within Symbia guidelines and policies and make sure all information needed for training and implementation is provided.
- Work with IT and staff to develop, define, and document technical and automated systems and what requirements are needed to ensure operational success.
- Provide on-site leadership and guidance and be able to answer questions for those working on the site and vendors related to the project.
- Develop plans to conduct regular project briefings to include status, issues, and challenges, to allow upper management to be up to speed on ongoing projects.
- Bring a strong project management manager’s sense of accountability to our operations.
- You will need the ability to travel to sites across the US Travel will be about 25-50% of the time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50lbs.
- Specific vision abilities may be required for this role. These abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, as well as good depth perception.
- Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Expectation is at least two hours straight, four times in an eight-hour day.
- You will need to be able to twist, bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.
- Repetitive movements are a big part of our environment, so you will need to be able to use your hands and feet simultaneously.
- This is a warehouse environment, so it consists of occasional extreme temperature shifts ranging from very cold to very hot.
- If you are operating Industrial Lift Equipment, you will need to be able to get on and off the equipment on a regular basis. Certain equipment may expose you to heights as well.
- There can be exposure to loud noises and dust.
- You will have regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and moving equipment.
