The Purpose of the Project Geologist is to maximize value to the business through organizing geological mapping and interpretation, 3D modelling, performing analysis and QA-QC on assay database, planning and supervising infill drilling and other projects, be the head of the team for CI projects, generates studies to understand geological domains, coordinate better use of geological tools that actively contribute to the planning, communicating, and executing of mine development targets safely and efficiently. Also coordinate the work of the Field Geologist.

• Collect geological information (logging, mapping, and grade control samples) to a high standard and quality, with the help of the field geologist.
• Conduct geologic mapping of blast holes and highwalls.
• Generate and implement continuous improvement projects.
• Assist with database management.
• Collate and deliver accurate Production and geological models, data, forecasts, and associated reports.
• Contribute to the definition, implementation, and monitoring of short, medium, and long-term mine exploration programs to extend the Life of Mine (LOM) and increase Reserves and Resources.
• Plan, design, and manage grade control drill programs (infill).
• Integrate and interpret all geological data (e.g, rock type, alteration, structure), assay, and mineralogical data into geologic maps and cross sections.
• Mentor mine geology team; coaching mine geologists, geological technicians, liaising with mine operations, and contractors.
• Understand and participate in updating metallurgical, blasting, and resource block models.
• Assist with geotechnical and hydrological tasks and interpretations.
• Perform daily grade control functions in the field and office as needed.
• Assist with implementing mining methodologies that minimise dilution and maximise recovery of economic resources.
• Maintain a strong line of communication and reporting on progress across multiple disciplines within the Technical Services group.
• Maintain a strong line of communication and liaison with the Operations team to ensure geological instruction is understood and followed.
• Ensure compliance to statutory requirements.
• Integrate applicable industry best practices.
• Actively looks for opportunities to improve the current workflow and processes.
• All other duties as reasonably assigned.

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Geology.
• Master's degree in Economic Geology preferred.
• Minimum 4 years hard rock mining experience

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
• Occasionally may be required to work early morning or evening hours to meet global organizational needs.
• Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
