Job Overview:
We are in search of a highly skilled Geologist to lead our 2024 drilling campaign. As part of your role as a Project Geologist you will be instrumental in the collection and analysis of reverse circulation (RC) chips, mapping of lithologies and geological structures within the mine, and delivering critical insights for our geological drilling programs. We are particularly interested in candidates with a robust background in chemical sedimentary rocks, structural geology, and/or open-pit mining. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in drilling campaigns.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze RC samples to enhance our understanding of the geological variations within the mine.
- Produce detailed mappings of geological structures and lithologies present in the open-pit mine.
- Interpret geological data to identify mineral deposits and ascertain geological trends.
- Work collaboratively with mining engineers and other professionals to construct geological models and maps.
- Execute geological surveys and field investigations to collect data and samples.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations that summarize findings and provide recommendations.
- Assist in the planning and execution of drilling programs.
- Perform laboratory tests on collected samples to assess their composition.
- Apply geological expertise to support and advance the mission of Treasure Canyon Calcium.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in drilling campaigns is highly advantageous.
- Enrollment in or completion of a degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred, but undergraduate candidates with experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Profound knowledge of geological principles, processes, and techniques.
- Exceptional data analysis capabilities, with proficiency in interpreting geological data.
- Outstanding communication skills, capable of presenting complex information.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for precise data collection.
- A background in limestone or other chemical sedimentary rocks is desirable.
- Experience in structural geology is preferred.
- Familiarity with the mechanical aspects of drilling equipment is advantageous.
