Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as primary scheduler to coordinate between multiple projects, requiring the consolidation of multiple schedules to ensure traceability of milestones, including development of Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Critical Path Schedule, and other project documentation as needed. Maintain, add, and track team actions using project management methodology and standard collaboration tools (SharePoint). Manage deliverables review process for team by managing tracking information on SharePoint, tracking due dates, comments, dispositions, and developing process improvement strategies. Capable of participating in multiple Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) and Working Groups to extract and communicate necessary scheduling data points. Proactively develop communication briefings to inform VA leadership and other external stakeholders on common Interoperability objectives and activities. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.
Must Haves:
- Experience of 5 years or more with coordination, scheduling and identification of all long-term, mid-term, and near-term project/program milestone and related activities
- Experience identifying scheduling and coordination issues
- Experience coordinating with program management staff in multiple and wide-ranging technical programs within the VA and others to ensure that schedules and expectations are completed in a timely manner
- Experience with developing an Program Management Schedules (integrated master schedules) & Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Experience in resource management and gathering resource requirements.
- Ability to coordinate between multiple projects and consolidating multiple project schedules, define goals, objectives, deliverables, and associated timelines
- Proficient with MS Project, MS SharePoint, MS Excel, Jira
- Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, or technical equivalent with 10 years of relevant experience or a total of 18 in lieu of education.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with VA's Strategic Interoperability Partners (DoD, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), National Cemetery Administration (NCA), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), External Partners, Cerner)
- Experience and skill with facilitating working groups and data calls
- Experience with drafting status reports, defining and gathering requirements
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other data analytics tools
- Ability and flexibility to work in a matrixed environment of contractor, vendor, and government resources, as well as external organizations
- Ability to use strong oral and written communication skills to communicate highly technical subject matter to broad audiences, including Executive-level audiences
