Purpose/Introduction
Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a Project Engineer/Specialist to join our team at the Orange, Texas facility. This position will manage capital improvement and expense projects at the Orange facility using the Chevron Project Development and Execution Process (CPDEP) and Small Expense Project Process for project development. The Project Team in Orange manages projects up to $20MM with most of the projects in the $250M to $2MM range. #HPCP
Responsibilities
- Ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, and on budget
- Assists team heads with evaluating projects and defining project deliverables
- Supports preparation and control of project scope of work, specifications, and schedules
- Ensures company and industry standards and codes are followed
- Follows a strategy for project engineering management and site priorities
- Ensures execution project deliverables are completed to plan
- Manages financial tracking, reporting, and forecasting
- Assists team heads in setting project execution schedules
- Assists with developing and revising project engineering procedures and tools
- Supports TA project execution and planning timing
- Tracks and optimizes project execution using industry best practices
- Track all changes through Management of Change process
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in project management
- Experience with gated project management processes
- Commitment to safety along with proven leadership skills
- Ability to work with multi-disciplined teams
- A self-starter with excellent presentation and planning skills
- Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Experience with projects in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage tasks and projects in various stages of implementation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in SAP, scheduling, project controls, and cost estimation
- Experience working with EPC contractor(s)
- Experience as MOC owner
