B&A is seeking an entry-level electrical engineering professional to join our Renewables Studies and Utility System Planning team to perform related engineering analysis necessary in renewables and power utility planning. Project Engineer I performs a variety of routine to complex tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with engineering staff, methods, practices and programs bringing value to our clients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of challenges facing the power industry today. This position reports to the Division Team Lead or Division Manager.

Position requirements include:

  • Project Engineer I works under close supervision and receives specific and detailed instructions for required tasks and results expected.
  • Focus on performing a diversified range of studies related to electric utility and renewables integration, including (not limited to) Power Quality, Arc Flash, Distributed Generation, Battery Energy Storage, Micro-grid, and Transient Analysis studies/analysis/implementation.
  • Focus on the preparation and planning processes of Construction Work Plans with corresponding Environmental Reports, Long-Range Plans, Distribution Protective Coordination Studies and special projects including Load Shift Analysis, Capacitor Placement, Motor Starting Analysis and PV Impact Analysis.
  • Exhibit good oral and written communication skills for interaction with supervisor, employees at all levels and client interface.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required. Zero (0) years of applicable experience required. Current Engineering Intern Certification OR Passage of FE exam within first 12 months of hire desired.
